Hi all

My GGrandfather Sidney LAWRENCE (1863)was born in Sturminster Newton,
Dorset, I have traced the family back to Fifehead Neville and back to
Fontmell Magna, Dorset where various members of the family were
'Millers' including Sidney.

He joined the Police Force and was appointed PC115 on Feb 16,1890, I am
having difficulty here as in 1881 he was 18 and living in Fifehead
Neville and his Police Service Record (1890) shows his previous employer
as a George LAWRENCE, Miller, Litton Cherney, Dorset.

Does anyone have access to the 1991 Census which might help find out if
George LAWRENCE was just an employer or also family ? (I know Sidney had
a brother George (1858)).

Also Sidney was married to 'Edith Maud Rogers (1868)' on Feb 14,1897,
she was from Dorchester I know her family and have all the details
regarding her two sister and their husbands all married at 'Dorchester
Holy Trinity' but cannot find Sidney & Edith's marriage, I understand
Edith was a member of the Salvation Army would there be separate records
?
Please let me know if you can help

Regards

Richard
