Although my Lawrences do not seem to connect, I wondered about your
Elizabeth Judkins. Do you know her family?

I have a purported but not proven descent from an Elizabeth Petway who
married Samuel Judkins, Jr, c1680. They had sons Samuel and John,
and a daughter, Lydia. Possibly there was another daughter, Elizabeth.
Or it is possible that Elizabeth Petway (Judkins) married a second time.

Elizabeth Petway was a daughter of Edward Petway and his wife,
Elizabeth, widow of William Carter Jr. (Boddie, in Virginia Historical
Families, p297, identifies the Elizabeth who married Petway as the
daughter of Carter Crafford and his wife, Elizabeth Kearney, daughter of
Capt Barnaby Kearney of Nansemond Co and Elizabeth (Godwin). Unless
she married first William Carter Jr, I doubt Boddie's identification.)

Samuel Judkins Jr was, of course, son of Samuel Judkins Sr, who was
born c 1637 in England and died c 1672 in Surry Co, VA. He married
c 1656 Lydia Gray, daughter of William Gray (wife Mary _____) and
granddaughter of Thomas Gray, an original planter who arived at age 15
in 1608. Thomas was born in England c 1593 and died c 1658. He
married (1) Annis Valentine and (2) Margaret ____, who was the mother
of William.

This information was taken from Barnett and Allied Families, 1608-1995,
by Don L Barnett, with some research of my own.

I thought this might be of interest to you.
