I am looking for information on Josiah Lawrence/Laurence who from CT to
Berkshire County, MA. He was Deacon at First Congregational Church in Dalton
and then in Pittsfield. Josiah married Mary (perhaps Merrill). He had the
following children: Silence b. abt 1783 who married Levi Ellis in
Pittsfield, 1803. Josiah II who married Nancy Wilbur, abt 1818, Pittsfield.
Experience (Lawrence) Moody, Horatio Gates Lawrence, Gad Merrill Lawrence
who married Deborah Wyman Feb. 1809, Pittsfield, Electa married a Cogswell,
and Thomas.
Josiah is believed to be the son of Josiah Lawrence and Relief Lawrence
(probably cousins). Relief died 1799 at 84 yrs and is buried in Pittsfield.
Josiah died Apr 1844 in Pittsfield, buried in Pittsfield Cemetery.
