I am also researching the Lawrence family in Alabama, specifically Morgan
County. My ancestor was William Lawrence who married Mahalah (Mahaly) Rice.
They were in Morgan County in 1850 and 1860. Mahalah was still there in 1870
and 1880. Her parents resided in Morgan County as well. I have not been able
to connect William to Joab, Bartholomew or Elisha but I thought it was a good
possibility that they were related some way. Have anyone come across a
William Lawrence that fits in with this family?
