Several years ago I helped a cousin of my husbands make a poster for
her State Fair entry of the proof of the earliest immigrant ancestor. She
willed me the poster when she died. The ones listed as immigrants are
John Lawrence of Wisset, Suffolk County, England, Baptised 8 Oct. 1607.
He came to America in 1630 and settled in Watertown and later Groton Mass.
This was taken from Biographical sketches of the Lawrence Family by R.M.
Lawrence.
Also listed were his parents, Henry and Mary Lawrence of Wisset who came
to America in 1635 and settled in Charlestown. I do not have the name of
the vessels but maybe the dates will help. The next generation back is
John Lawrence of Rumburgh - will dated 1606. There are 5 more generations
from Rumburgh. Jane Carver
