I have been looking for some information on this family for a long time. This seems to be the right one. John Lawrence's daughter, Catherine, marries John Van Pelt. They reside in Staten Island, NY. I have a copy of a will, dated January 24 1767, where John Lawrence, names his wife Catherine, children Ann, Catherine, Nicholas and Edstel. Edstel is a strange name, probably for Frances Edsail. The spelling often gets changed. The will names his brother Richard Lawrence executor. Another will, that of Johathan Lawrence, also of Staten Island, makes his brother Richard Lawrence executor. This will was dated January 17, 1767.
