Peter almost surely doesn't, but my Lawrence ancestors lived in New York
State from the early 17th century until early in the 19th century when
they moved into New Jersey.

In New York they first lived on Long Island, then about 1700 moved
into Westchester County (what is now Bronx) and then on to present day
Rockland County. My gg grandfather was born in New Hempstead, Rockland in
1801 but he and his family settled in Newark, New Jersey where he died in
the 1850's.

Does any of that appear related in any way to the Lawrences in which
you are interested?
