I am always interested in NY Lawrence families. My brickwall is Thomas Laurence married 19 Sep 1779 Trinity church, NYC Eleanor Neeltje Earle bp 11 Apr 1753 Southampton LI NY will 1839 d/o Edward Earle & Melletje Eleanor Elsworth. 4 children bp Trinity parish church, NYC: 1. Thomas Lawrence bp 7 May 1781 dy, 2. Hannah B OLaurence bp 12 may 1783 m.30 Apr 1803 Jacob Blackwell Trinity church NYC, 3. Thomas Lawrence bp 11 Apr 1785 d 3 Nov 1848 mar 21 Jul 1812 Margaret Ireland in trinity parish church NYC 4. Maria Lawrence bp 5Feb 1787 d 16 Aug 1871 NYC mar 23 Apr 1805 Thomas H Vail in trinity parish NYC.
I have no parentage or dates of birth for Thomas Lawrence. I think he is related to the Tory major John Lawrence of Staten Island who went to England after the rev. war. He married one of the Earle girls.
Thomas Laurence was in partnership with a John F. Lawrence in NYC.
In the obits of the NY POst there are many Thomas Lawrence names.
