Kelly,

Patrick Co.VA was formed from Henry Co, VA in 1791. Coming from the
south from NC, first there is Danville, VA, Martinsville, VA, both in
Henry County, then Stuart, VA, and on Route 58, Meadows of Dan, VA which
are both in Patrick Co., VA. Some of the Lawsons came from Halifax, VA
to Henry/Patrick Co., VA and most of them moved on to Stokes Co., NC,
Tn, KY, ILL, MO, ALA. Going further north from Patrick is Floyd, VA,
Roanoke, VA, Lynchburg, VA, Bedford, VA and Richmond, VA. My
grandfather, Madison Thompson Lawson and great grandfather Rev. William
Lawson stayed in Patrick Co., VA, so I was born and raised in Meadows of
Dan, VA. It seems where there are Lawsons, there are Rogers and Collins
families, also Simkins and in my case Thompson and Harris families.
Hope this helps.

Wilma Lawson Padgett
