James Madison Lawson, (if this is the same man), was b. 1 Nov 1845, Alabama,
lived in Route 3, Box 36, Henderson, TX for 30 years. He had lived inTX for
the last 30 years. Lived in OK for 16 Mos (illegible) 1909 to Dec 1910. He
enlisted 17 May 1861, New Orleans, LA, Infantry CSA, served in Co E, 3rd La
Regiment, Infantry, he made ap for pension 10 Dec 1911, Rusk Co, TX.He did
sign his name to the application. He was appraised as 0, on 23 Nov 1911 by
Tax Assessor, C R Hardy, he had lived in TX since 1865. Was Pensioner #20771
of Rusk Co. It appears that he served in AR until surrender in Apr 1865.In
the Application for Mortuary Warrant, Galveston County, Tipton Lawson was
responsible for his indebtedness, He died 6 Sep 1921, Texas City, TX, He
died in the home of B F Lawson, son. In the Certificate of Undertaker, 21
Sep 1921, Texas City, TX, states that the body was buried in La Marque
Cemetery. Summary: He died in home of B F Lawson; Tipton Lawson was fiscally
responsible for the burial warrant. I do not have any more info on this.
What was relationship of B F & Tipton Lawson? Please know that there are 28
pages of legal sheets and that I have hurried through this and it has not
been edited. I extracted as fast as I could but the dates and names are
correct. Let me know if this is what you thought that it was. FHLawson
