I am re-posting this information in the body of this message because I
discovered that as an attachment certain characters did not translate
properly.

Here is an extensive list of land transactions beginning with a grant dated 29
Oct 1772 of 300 acres in Caswell county to John Lay and ending with an 1815
deed of 52 1/2 acres from Leven Downs to David Lay, Jr. Lay given names
are:Jesse, Peter, James, Obediah, Bird, Mary, Sarah, Patty, David, Hannah,
Suzannah, and George. Other names involved are: Graves, Gibson, Guthrie,
Adkins, Cooper, Darby, Wisdom, Foster, Slade, Payne, Otwell, Smith, Roades,
Burchfied, Hogg, Atkinson, McDowel, McDaniel. I hope it is helpful to someone.
