Hopkinsville Kentuckian March 1900
Gracey's New Store
Mr. Hammond Open and Ready For Business

Gracey, Ky., March 14, 1900
The new store of W.R. Hammonds, at Gracey, Ky., is now open and is one of
the handsomest country stores to be seen anywhere. Mr. Hammand handles dry
goods, notions, clothing shoes, etc. and his stock is new and complete. The
interior arrangement of his store is especially attractive. The lighting is
by a private gas system, by which the gas to light the entire building is
generated by a gasoline burner. The gas fixtures are handsome and newly
improved and the lights are of the best and most brilliant quality. The
windows are decorated and arranged in a very tasty and attractive style, the
work of Mr. Lander Meacham, who is with the new store. Mr Meacham, in
addition to his excellent taste in this line, is an experienced and popular
salesman, who will exert a wise influence for his new house. Mr. Hammond
comes with the best of commendations and ample capital and will at once
build up a good business.
