E.M. Cullom
Sentence of One Year for the Gracey Boy
The Morganfield Sun gives this item Friday.
"The prisoners convicted of felonies were sentenced yesterday and Sheriff
Clements, or his deputies, will leave with them for Eddyville today. Those
sentenced are as follows:
Ben Harris, housebreaking two years Andrew Clements, hog stealing, two years
E.M. Cullom, embezzlement, one year Barret Brown, malicious shooting, one
year
Young Cullom was I.C. railroad agent at Sturgis and a shortage, the result
of futures, was discovered in his accounts. He fled but returned to stand
his trial. His sentence was the lightest that could be imposed on him.
Much sympathy is felt for him in his weakness and for his widowed mother at
Gracey.
