Hello again list,
I just received a piece of information probably regarding my John Bristow
of Montgomery Co TN. So here is summation of what I have.
John had 4 children that I am aware of at this time, Elizabeth b. 1805,
Joseph W. b circa 1811, John Jr & William birthdates unknown. The three
boys and Elizabeth's husband are mentioned in John's will, year 1848. Also
mentioned was John's wife, Sarah.
The next tidbit of info I received was this, from the Bristow-Williams
cemetery in Chritian Co KY:
SALLY AMERICA BRISTOW
CONSORT OF JOHN
DIED OCTOBER 7, 1825
and this:
NARCISSA BIRDET BRISTOW DAUGHTER OF JOHN AND SALLY
DIED 1823
At this point, I posted a query to both the LBL & the Montgomery Co lists,
and someone was kind enough to send the following:
" Found the following on a CD. John BRISTON (probably spelled incorrectly)
married Sally A. PAYNE on 4 Jan 1821 in Christian County, Ky."
This is telling me that John had at least 3 wives. The first was the mother
of at least Elizabeth and Joseph W. The 2nd appears to be Sally America
PAYNE, married 4 Jan 1821, died 7 Oct 1825 and the mother of Narcissa
Birdet Bristow. The 3rd was the Sarah mentioned in John's will in 1848.
Can anyone clue me in on who was John's first wife and what happened to
her? Who was Sarah, the 3rd wife?
