You mentioned the youth, so here is one of my ideas. The Boy Scouts have a
genealogy badge. You could make arrangements with the Scoutmaster to hold a
Genealogy Badge Workshop and help them earn the badge. You could hold a
similar workshop in YW I would think. Scout badges are a great motivator,
but since my daughter isn't quite old enough for YW, I don't know what they
use as a motivator in YW. My daughter is a Girl Scout and I am her leader,
so that is a great motivator for us. I have some interesting people in my
family tree that cover various niches in U.S. History and world history. I
would talk about some of those interesting people and encourage them to find
out where their ancestors were and what they were doing during that time in
history, even if they were in another part of the world.
