To Terry Ann, I have been a specialist for the past year,writing a
history of our ward for 1999, now working on one for the year 2000. I
was given a sheet of instructions for preparing the history that
includes: 1. a narrative summary of the work of the church and faithe of
the members of the ward, list ordinances perfomed, changes in officers,
faith-promoting events in lives, letters from headquarters. I also
include special activities about each organization which I get from each
president (YW. RS, SS, Primary, etc). I work with the ward clerk to
obtain the roster of officers in the ward, ordinance info-blessings,
baptisms, ordinations, marriages. I find the hard part is not the facts,
but the faith-promoting incidents of ward members to include, suggesting
NOT to use their names. I understand there is a new instruction sheet
that I don't have at the present but the ward clerk has it. The
instructions indicate that 15 Jan is the deadline to submit the history
to the stake, with the stake deadline 31 jan.
