We did the same thing in our ward.
We grouped people into 'clans' to encourage them to collaborate with family
members, or people whose lines tie in. Some have responded really well.
For those who are not yet responding, we still note where what is available
for when they are ready to come in.
In addition to the basic 'profile' (computer programs, FHC visits etc), we
become familiar with their research so that when materials come to the FHC
we can let them know it's available.
It has brought us close to the ward members and even in some instances with
other wards because of theri links to ours.
Instead of going from member to member ourselves though, I have asked the
Bishop if we could not involve the visiting teachers and hometeachers. They
would come in to the FHC as friends and the consultants can then teach.
The other thing I try to make sure they understand is that they have special
people they can call on if they have questions. To let them know they are
not alone and who is available to help them.
This seems to have given them a sense of security that they may not have had
before.
It also brought new opportunities with Public Relations as they refer us to
their friends etc.
