As far as my understanding is, we should do the work for ALL of our ancestors
no matter what. And this is only my two cents, but anyone who
attempts/succeeds in a suicide attempt is/was severely depressed. Depression is caused by
chemical imbalances in the brain, brought on by any number of things and can
usually be overcome by medication and counseling. But if the person doesn't
have access to these things, then they can feel so lost and without any kind of
hope that the only solution they can see is leaving this world. I don't think
our Savior would keep someone out of "heaven" because of something beyond
their control.
