That's a great idea Pam, except not all museums have antique fabric
specialists & this is an area where one may want advice from an expert in
that area, not just a general museum worker. On Antique Roadshow, for
example, they have experts in many fields but they each seem to have their
own area that they excel in.
In my visit to the SL Museum, these specialists were working to restore old
tapestries that day, & had other projects on the worktable...they seemed
extraordinarily knowledgeable so that's why my recommendation was in that
direction.
They strongly advised me against cleaning the stars by any method...fearing
they were much too fragile to stand up to such & would be weakened even
destroyed.
My only concern is someone might give an "opinion" instead of truly expert
advice on this topic.
Good point tho Pam...there could be some great experts in a museium in
Deinise's area & that would would be really convenient.
