James D. LedfordJames D. Ledford, 67, of the Birdtown Community, died Friday, June 3, 2005, at Cherokee Indian Hospital.
A native of Cherokee, he was a son of the late Moses and Cordelia Murphy Ledford. He was preceded in death by a son, Lee Ledford.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Darlene Feather Ledford; two sons, Chip Ledford of Cherokee and Chuck Ledford and wife, Becky, of the U.S. Marine Corps; two stepsons, Eddie and Dwayne Bird, both of Cherokee; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Irma Bradley and husband, Red, Mary Kight, all of Cherokee, and Carol Howard and husband, Sam, of Old Fort; and four brothers, Virgil, Carlson and Charlie Ledford, all of Cherokee, and Moses Ledford Jr. of Windsor.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Crisp funeral Home. Pastor Red Bradley will officiate. Burial will be in Birdtown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
