Believe me, it can. When Legacy v6 was first released, a lot of users had
been complaining about it not opening and getting an error message (can't
remember the exact error now). I couldn't duplicate the problem until we
were on our Legacy cruise and I got the error! I found that an Error 91 was
hiding behind the other error message and once I connected to the internet I
had no problems opening Legacy. Changing the option has solved the problem.

I believe it was fixed some time ago but users who still have a really early
build of Legacy v6 will run into that problem. It hasn't been reported for a
long time.

I didn't think this would stop Legacy from opening. As a matter of fact,
I unselected "Never check the internet unless a link is clicked", closed
Legacy, unplugged my internet connection, and started Legacy without a
problem.
