Hi all
If this took a long time to download, please accept my apologies.
Horace Arthur STANIFORTH (probably from Hyson Green or Radford in
Nottingham) married Miriam (surname unknown) and had 3 children;
Grace, Claude Eric (called Eric) and Cyril. He died around 1912 in his
thirties.
Miriam was born around 1875 and died on 12th January 1968. She is
buried in Redhill Cemetary, Nottingham. Her mother was called Jemima
(surname unknown). Jemima came from Hinkley or Oadby. She died aged
86 or 87 in 1939. She married twice - her 2nd husband was a gardener. It's
thought that one of her three surnames was FINCH - but which one?
Grace married John George TUGBY and had a son called Jack - who was
either stillborn or died soon after birth. Tragically, Grace died two days
later on 28th April 1929.
Thomas Frederick SLACK (b. 1878, d. (c)1909 tragically aged 36 in a
mining accident at Clifton Colliery) possibly lived in Essex Street in The
Meadows in Nottingham. He married Alice Jane NICHOLSON (b.
8/8/1882, d. 1962) whose mother was Hannah BONSER - from Breedon-
on-the-hill. Hannah was probably born about 1849 (we have a school
sampler she made in 1859 and for which she won a wooden writing box).
We know that Hannah married a NICHOLSON - but which one - and where
from? They had another daughter, Rebecca and a son, Fred(erick).
Alice Jane and Thomas Frederick had a daughter Anne and two sons,
Thomas and Joseph. After Thomas (snr) died, Alice married Jim WADE
and had four daughters and two sons (Alice, Betty, Ethel, Ivy, George and
Jim)
If anyone has any information on any of the people mentioned here, or if
any of this rings bells I would be exceptionally grateful to hear from you. If
you've read all of this and it means nothing to you - once again, please
accept my apologies.
Jon
Kindest Regards
