Hello Ann, Lorne, Ann Marie, Alison, Sharon and all others (27 of you) who
have e-mailed me asking for research on your behalf next Tuesday, (Feb 16th)
when I go to London.

I do not want to have to e-mail you individually but there is something I
must make clear. Some of those who have e-mailed me have the impression
that all I have to do in London is sit down and copy details from Birth /
Marriage or Death certificates ! What an ideal world that would be, all that
I am able to do (with luck) is find very basic details of the people you
wish me to look for. All I am able to see in a register is the following
which is a member of my Family Tree

SINGLETON ANN LIVERPOOL 8b 350 2nd 1851

Armed with those brief details, you are able to complete an application form
for the Birth Certificate of ANN SINGLETON. You take your form to the sales
window where you are required to PAY £6-50 for every certificate you order.

My good friend David Coppock has given me details of converting Sterling to
Dollars and I give details here

AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS £6-50 = $15.73

CANADIAN DOLLARS £6-50 = $15.275

U.S.A DOLLARS £6-50 = $10.27

I make no charge for my time or travel costs but postage is quite expensive
and I ask you to take that into consideration. Please confirm if you wish
me to purchase certificates on your behalf or if you just want the very
basic details available from the registers. I have also been asked by
several people to search a 10 year period for Births Marriages and
Deaths - - - This means handling forty registers if what is being searched
for is in the final register. Quite a time consuming job so please try to
give close dates
