Have been looking for a Lewis connection in that area.....My ancestor Joseph
Lewis and wife, Elizabeth Smith Lewis settled in Jefferson County, OH,
(Steubenville) in 1802....We do not know where they came from....Clues are
that both were born in MD and also their daughter Mary Lewis Chambers state
in a later OH census that she was born in WVa.....Brook County, is close and
I was advised to start searching there....If you think this is a possibility
I would be glad to share any info I have ....
