Will ANYONE who has information on these three brothers please contact me....They were all sons of Mildred (Lewis) Lewis and (Major/Mountain) John Lewis of Pittsylvania County, Virginia.

John Baptist Lewis, born Albemarle County (no d.o.b.) m. Elizabeth Harvie (Harvey) He died in 1826 near Austin, Texas. (Their daughter Sarah Griffin Lewis b. 1-22-1786 in Albemarle Cty.,Va.) was married to Daniel Morgan Boone, (Son of Danie Boone) Among other children were Milton, Lindsay, Elizabeth, Martrom, John, Samuel, George and James.

James Lewis (no date of birth) May have been born in Pittsylvania Cty.,Va. m. Sally Boone, a niece of Daniel Boone (and a sister to Dinah Boone, who married Zachariah Allen) Sally and Dinah Boone were daughters of Jonathan Boone (brother to Daniel) Two of their children were Elizabeth and Nancy.

Samuel Hardin Lewis b, Feb. 17, 1768 in Pittsylvania Cty. Va. d. 12-13-1832 in Pleasant Hill, Ill. (Pike County) m. Mary Barnett Lewis 1800 (either in Kentucky or Missouri territory) She was born in S. Carolina in 1779 and died at Pleasant Hill, Ill 9-11-68. Their children were Ursula Ann, Samuel Hardin, Lycurgas C., John Warner, Chedister Barnett, Lucinda and Martha Damaris.

All three brothers were part of the Western migration at the behest of Daniel Boone in (or about 1797) Whether or not they were all in the same specific travelling group is not known, as there is evidence that they all stopped for periods of time in Kentucky (Christian County for Samuel) BUT there is clear evidence that they were all in Missouri Terrritory (upper Louisiana) by 1800, and in contact.

If ANYONE can tell me about their parents I would be eternally grateful, as I am having trouble proving my personal family information.

Thanks so much
Dee Elledge
