Hi Gale, I did a little searching in my line. This
is what I could find: In addition to my grandfather
Sherman T. Lewis who was born in Racine cty, Wisc.
there is a Sherman J. Lewis, born Oct. 11, 1864 in
Fairbanks, Iowa and died Oct. 14, 1865. Then I found
a George Byron Lewis born Feb. 7, 1856 in Union,
Wisc.. This seems to fit your family, as, even though
they were born in 2 different states, they share the
same father, Lansing D. Lewis, who is my gggrandfather
Gradus Lewis's brother. George's wife's name was
Loretta W. Barney and Sherman's wife was Francis
M.---. If you think I'm on the right track, let me
know and I can give you more. Just got back from a
trip where I found Gradus Lewis's grave stone in NY
state. Barbara
