Your question about Hannah Lewis is a pretty one. My three best sources
present a somewhat confused picture. You may know that the marriage of Hannah
Lewis and Peleg Ross appears in the Westerly, RI Town Records on Dec. 10
1755. Because Hannah Lewis, the dau. of William Lewis & Mary Gavitt was b.
Mar 1 1736/37 and Hannah Lewis , the dau. of Joseph Lewis & Mary Wilcox was
b. Nov 21 1726, it would seem that Peleg Ross b. 1733 married Hannah Lewis
the dau. of William Gavitt because it is not likely that he would have
married someone older.

It is possible that the original marriage record might contain the names of
her parents as sometimes happened. I have had a contact locally who might
check this.
