That needs a clarification..Lists are not broken up and re established as
area lists for a partificular surname. The original surname lists continues
and some one applies to rootsweb to establish a new list. If the powers that
be believe there is a need a new list is established. Usually if you ask you
can get a new list. Some people belong to both a surname list and an area
surname list.. Then there are the county lists that take all names that were
in the county.
Mailing lists are just to get info from.. think about it if we all just sat
back and asked for informatin and no one actually did any research no one
would get answers. A maling list is to share. Using Good acurate subject
lines helps a lot too. like the main person's name date place.
For any of you thinking about it there are support groups for us List
Owners...It's time consumming but can be fun too
