Hi Betty and List,
Betty, I have this reference for a possibility:
Brown, Stuart E., Annals of Clarke County, Virginia, Berryville, VA:
Virginia Book Co., 1983. Vol. I, pp. 365:
Jacob Lindsey, b. 1770-1780. Moved to Pickaway County, Ohio, in 1797. He
may have married Mary Ewins in Frederick County in 1797. His parents, John
and Sarah Lindsey, probably lived with him at the time of their death.
I checked the census for Jacob Lindsey in Pickaway Co. OH, and he was shown
there in 1830 with an older man living in the household, who could have been
his father John. I couldn't find Jacob Lindsey in Pickaway Co. after 1830,
though, so I don't know if the Jacob Lindsey in Pickaway Co. had a wife
named Mary.
The John and Sarah Lindsey mentioned in Stuart Brown's book are John Lindsey
and Sarah Abrell. John Lindsey, b. 1746, was a son of Thomas Lindsey of
Frederick Co. VA. Thomas was born abt. 1720 and died in 1769. Sarah Abrell
was the sister of Elizabeth Abrell, who married Jacob Lindsey Sr. of
Frederick Co. and later of Wilkes Co. GA.
I hope this helps!
Susan
