Hello
I also have a Linnemann connection. My grandmother was Elisabeth Linnemann, stepdaughter of Herman Linnemann and his wife Helena (Lena).
Herman was, according to the 1900 census, born in Germany circa 1855. His occupation was tailor.
He & Lena married circa 1890, probably in Cincinnati.
She had two children previous to this marriage: a son named Henry born in July 1887 and Elisabeth born in 1888. I do not know who their father is at this point.
By Mr Linnemann, she had two more daughters: Mary born circa 1892 and Anna born about 1893 or so.
I believe Mr Linnemann died in Cincinnati prior to 1910, as he is not on this census, and Lena is listed as widow. I am searching for information on his death & burial.
Lena died 3/31/1914. Her obit is posted on these pages. She was about 45 or so at the time of her death. Her maiden name, in her obit, is given as Albers. Tieben, the name given on my grandmother's marriage certificate, may have been her name from her first husband. I will have to look into this further.
Do you know if your Linnemanns may be connected to mine?
