Billy Joe Werts


Billy Joe Werts, 50, of Bonifay, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay.

A native of Jackson County, Mr. Werts was a former employee of the Social Security Administration, retired from the Coca-Cola Company and a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Lipford Werts.

Survivors include his son, William "Andy" Werts and wife, Amie, of Cottondale; three daughters, Kimberly James and husband, Michael, of Bonifay, Megan Werts of Grand Ridge, and Amber Faulk of Ozark, Ala.; two brothers, Ronnie Wayne Werts and Larry Martin Werts both of Apopka; three sisters, Genell Hoskins and husband, Ruben, of Panama City, Sally Ray and husband, Eugene, of Marianna, and Diane Tyus of Jacksonville; and six grandchildren, Austin Duvall, Lilly Ann James, Hailey James, Payton Berkley, and Tristen and Tyler Weeks.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10, at Maddox Chapel; burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery with military honors provided by the Sneads American Legion Post 241, James & Sikes Funeral Home - Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 10, from 12 p.m. until funeral time, at Maddox Chapel.
