Here are two items from the Wilkes-Barre Evening Leader, Saturday, April 26,
1890 as e-mailed by ejlangley on the website. One
has to do with immigration:

ELSEWHERE: All the employees at Castle Garden have been discharged, the
Government having ceased to use the place as an immigrant landing station.
The first immigrant was landed at the Garden August 5, 1855, and the last,
Friday.

>From Buffalo, NY: Charles Delamater, a barber, has eloped with his
mother-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Evans.
