Siauliai is a quite large city in the north of Lithuania (pop 100-300,000);
it has a railway station, bus station, 5 hotels listed, a theatre, an art
gallery, 3 museums (including a bicycle museum!) and a car service.

Joniskis is smaller & about 25 miles north of it, close to the Latvian
border.

The famous Hill of Crosses is just outside Siauliai off the Joniskis road.
