25 yr old Michal Rachas is listed as a boarder living at 4339 Hermitage Ave
in Chicago in the 1920 census. He says that he emigrated in 1913 from
Russia and speaks Lithuanian. He is working as a laborer in the stock
yards. There is only one other Rachas listed in the 1920 federal census,
and he is of Greek origin.

There is a 30 yr old A. Starinski who is a private serving with the US
military in the Phillipines at Fort William McKinley, and is listed in the
1920 census. He gives his birthplace as Russia and his primary language
(and that of his parents) as Lithuanian.

There is a 12 yr old Alexander Starinski living with Joe and Annie Widiskis
in Larkinburg, (Clark County) IL in the 1920 census. He is listed as their
son. Joe is 46 and Annie is 50, and both emigrated from Lithuania in 1904,
while Alex was born in Lithuania. Joe gives his occupation as farmer, and
Joe, Annie and Alex all say that their parents were born in Lithuania and
spoke/speak Lithuanian.

There are a Katheryn, John and Andres Starinski, each listed as head of
household living in Pennsylvania. Katheryn and John say they are from
austri/Poland, while Andrew says he is from Slovenia.

Neither of these surnames have anyone listed in the census living in East St
Louis, IL.

Hope there is something here that is of help.

Mary
