Parishes typically have no resources available to answer genealogical
inquiries. In some cases, the old records are not even there any longer,
having been toted off to the archives years ago.
Inquiries if this sort ought to be addressed to the archive in Vilnius, or
(depending where the place is) to the Polish archive in Suwalki.
