Yes, and I was told that Oliver was given his slaves by the then Governor of Virginia for safekeeping, when the Gov had to return to England due to health issues. If memory serves, he never returned, and thus Oliver inherited the slaves, as well as a parcel of land. The will I spoke of was not Oliver's, as his will contains no mention of slaves. I have numerous wills of his descendants, including his son's, and several grandsons. The will I mentioned was from one of the grandsons, I believe. I'll have to dig for it! Another grandson, Marcellus also mentions a slave in his will. A woman named Poll. She is named three times in the will. I am eager to see the black Littlejohn genealogy Kirby mentioned.
