Subject: Who were the parents of Joseph LOCKE & Lucy PIPER?
Date: Mon, 24 Nov 1997 21:03:11 -0500 (EST)
Hi, in John Goodwin Locke's, The Book of the Lockes, p. 72, marriage #126, he
notes "Joseph LOCKE m. Lucy PIPER, May, 1776, who was b. at Acton, June 27,
1754, and d. Feb. 20, 1826, at Fitzwilliam, N.H., a. 71. He resided at Acton
until 1803, and was one of that brave company commanded by Capt. Davis, at
Concord Fight, on the 19th April, 1775, who so manfully opposed the British
troops at the North Bridge. he was also with the American Army at Winter
Hill, Jany, 1776, and was stationed at Hull in the fall of the same year, and
served one campaign in 1778. About 1803 he moved to Fitzwilliam, N.H. where
he d. Nov. 11, 1829, a. 75."
The couple had Azuba, Lucy, Joseph, Lucy, Jonathan, Amey, Sally and Asa
Heywood.
J.G. Locke does not provide Joseph's or Lucy's parents' names. Does anyone
know who they were?
Thanks for any help in advance,
