My interest in the Lockridge name is to find out as much as I can about
the ancestors of Catherine Lockridge (or Kate) who married Nathaniel Stockton
and lived in Mariana, Arkansas (Phillips County then -- now Lee County).
Nathaniel and Kate had a daughter, Sarah Susan Stockton, born ca. 1840-48 who
married Jackson Florida Chaffin. They were my great grandparents. After
Nathaniel and Kate died in Arkansas, Sarah Susan and Jackson Florida Chaffin
moved to Waldrip, McCulloch County, Texas.

The information I have on this branch of my family came from a book published
by James Garvin Chastain in 1933. He was a descendant of the same
Stockton/Lockridge branch that I am.
