Subject: Silvertown explosion
Date: Sat, 2 May 1998 05:59:41 EDT
In March I posted a request for information on the Silvertown explosion in
1917 as I believe one of my relatives may have been killed as a result of it.
Some kind lady sent me the address of All Points East, St Lukes Centre,
Tarling Rd., London E16 saying I could get 2 books from them about the
explosion. I wrote to them but this morning I had my letter returned from the
P.O. as they had not been able to locate these people at this address.
However, in the meantime someone else had found All Points East, Historical
Research Consultants, 69 Frinton Road, London, E6 3HE, tel: 0181 472 6530. I
contacted them and found them to be extremely helpful and I did get the 2
books from them about the explosion, at GBPounds 3.50, each. One of the books
gives a list of all those killed. They haven't helped with my research at the
moment as none of the names tie up with mine, but they do make fascinating
reading.
Maybe other people might find All Points East of help with their research.
