Hello Andrea,
The quote that I made was from the book; "Free- born John", a Biography of
John Lilburne, by Pauline Gregg, Ph. D. Bsc.(Econ.). First published in 1961
by; George G. Harrap & Company Ltd. London. Reprinted in 1974 by, Greenwood
Press, a division of Williamhouse-Regency Inc. Library of Congress Catalog
Card # 73-22752. ISBN 0-8371-7346-9. Mr Ian R. Lilburne, Coull House, by
Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, a decendant of Free-born John prepared a genealogical
table, which is printed in this book. This book is no longer in print, but I
did get one from the library thru interloan. This book would be the best
place to start but remember it would only be a guide and you would need to
verify the sources yourself. I have found this book to have a great deal of
information. There are severay other books about John Lilburne but none as
good as this one. This John Lilburne was the son of Margaret Hixon and
Richard Lilburne. Third Pres. of the U.S., Thomas Jeffersons' maternal
ggrandmother was Jane Lilburne, a cousin to the above mentioned John
Lilburne. I'm always interrested in all Lilburn names. Some one needs to dig
up the bones for the sake of geneology only. My home page is correct only
back to William Riser Lilburn, but do visit me at;
http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/l/i/l/Elsie-S-Lilburn/index.html
So far I have found the name Lilburn spelled at least 15 different ways. I
do have a lot more Lilburn families but don't have them listed on my home
page as I haven't made the positive connection.
HAVE A SUPER GREAT DAY! Elsie
