Hi everyone,
I must have missed the ongoing controversy about Middx v London lists.
Are there 2 now? Seems most people arent happy about that!
My family were Londoners. My Faily came over from Germany in the 1880s and
settled there. My G.Grandfather had a baker shop in Whitechapel at the time
the Ripper was up to his tricks.. My Grandfather had the only non Jewish
shop in Petticoat Lane. I love the London History and the list has been
great.
Oddly, when George Ort my grandfather opened a baker shop out of
London...he did it in Middx...Perivale to be precise, in time to capitalize
on the massive Hoover building just opened on the Western Avenue. (shrewd
man).
So I grew up in Perivale, Middx. But my F.H research is in Islington and
the City.
Having missed the point of the argument (ill again...boring boring...)
PLEASE would someone fill me in? I have no intention of leaving this list,
but what is the "other" one.
If we're posting surnames. Bet none of you has these???
ORT(H). WENZEL. CLOS. TIBBY.
All around Islington. City or Bethnal Green.
Cheers all,
Pen (UK)
