Police summary states that Edward Coppen of Saint Giles, Camberwell in the
County of Surrey, in March 1817 was found guilty of housebreaking and
sentenced to 14 years and transportation. He is variously described as a
labourer or plasterer.
He was 20 years of age at the time of the offence. His accomplice was John
Coles. Anyone knowing of Edward COPPEN/COPPIN/COPPING please contact me.
I have much of the information of his life in Tasmania. He is one of the
many success stories here in Australia. Be proud to have him as an
ancestor. Pam
