Hi Ken
The parish church for Cripplegate is St Giles. The full title of the
parish is St Giles without Cripplegate
indicating it covered the area outside the City of London at Cripplegate.
The records are held at the Guildhall Library although you should be able
to request a film via your local LDS library.

Hi, could someone tell me what part of London could be described as
Cripplegate, one of my ancestors has this as his birth place in the 1851
census. I'm guessing that it's somewhere around the Barbican/Clerkenwell
area but I'm trying to pin down possible churches for his christening. Any
help would be most appreciated.
Cheers
Ken
