Thanks to everyone who's replied so far to my enquiry. You have all been
helpful, when I said I'm new to genealogy I meant 3 days new. I have only
my husbsnds birth cetificate and what little information I had gleaned over
the years.
I contacted my sister-in-law and she was able to tell me that Douglas Albert
may possibly be Albert Douglas and the twin was a sister Esther ( or
possibly Ethel or simmilar) and September was probably the month I'm looking
for.
She also said that quite possibly the information he gave for the birth
certificate was a complete fabrication especialy if he was on the run after
jumping ship ( this must have occured between 1938 at the earliest and
around 1948 at the latest - his eldest son was born in 1950 ) probably
during WW II - I cetainly hope not
My sister-in-law felt that probably Teddington, Middlesex was probably our
most likely birth-place. She also asked that I look into her mothers family.
Her mother was Annie Ruti DENCH born in Nelson, New Zealand in either
May/June/July 1930.
I intend to look up their marriage cettificate (no idea when yet) & his
death cetificate (Australian) when I can get a chance.
At the moment we're looking for a birth record in Teddington in September
1923 of Douglas Albert (or Albert Douglas) & Esther (or Ethel or something)
King on the same day.
Thanks again to everyone
Regards
Suzanne
