I am not nor have been involved in your search but have read with pleasure
your family tree coming together, thank you for sharing this .
I too get quite emotional with each new hit, and become obsessed with new
leads, so know how you are feeling.
Congratulations and good luck in your future quest.

Subject: FLORENCE RUDLAND SHIPP OULD SHARMAN
Due to major problems with screaming.net (one of my servers) I've been
losing emails and unsubscribed to the list for a week or more. I apologise
if anyone has sent me any mail at this address and I have seemingly ignored
it. There is no problem sending mail from this account and as it is free I
utilise this facility, but if anyone would like to mail me, it may be easier
to use the Breathe.net account at the bottom of this mail. TIA.
I wonder if any kind soul out there could give me some advice as to 'where
to go next'. I'm assuming that, with the following information, my best bet
would be 1891 census? I've got my mitts on some certificates today, and I'm
so excited! I've been trawling the LDS site to no avail (yet!), and seeking
out batch numbers etc but would value others' opinions as to whether I'm
doing the right thing!
The details I have now are the following:
John Stanley RUDLAND b 1883 d 20 Dec 1933 enlisted with Durham Light
Infantry from 8 Jul 1916 to
1 Apr 1919, Regtl No 603536, Unit 70560 (?) Lab Corps
Mary Bridget SHIPP 11 Mar 1911 (she born abt 1889)
marriage witnesses HAYES and ALLEN The Register Office, District of
He, in 1911 Rank Fireman at Theatre (?) and residence 47 Martin St,
Bermondsey. Fthr James RUDLAND, Salesman at Mustard Mills
She, in 1911, 22 years old residence 18 Powell Road Chiswick. Fthr John
Their children: Patrick John RUDLAND
Vera Marie RUDLAND
Most activity of the above is centred around Chiswick, Priory Road in
particular, to this day. Can anybody tell me the district/parish this would
be? I'm assuming Ealing.
An odd thing: John Stanley RUDLAND's death certificate dated 1933 states
that he died, aged 50, at 30 Twickenham Road, Isleworth, Middx. Does this
address mean anything? At the time he was 'of' Priory Road, Chiswick. I'm
yet to decipher the cause of death!
On to the FLORENCE line....
Henry James FLORENCE married Caroline Ann MATTHEWS in the district of
Holborn in Jun qtr 1910.
Their son, my Grandfather, also Henry James FLORENCE was born in late 1911,
followed by Charles and Irene.
Henry FLORENCE then married Vera RUDLAND in spring 1934. At this time he
worked as a Coach Mounter, and lived at 25 Ewald Road, Fulham. After 5 or
so years, moved to 84 Rosebank Ave, Sudbury Hill, Wembley.
Any names/dates/locations ring any bells anywhere?
Finally, one more borough/district question. My mothers birth certificate
states that she was born in Queen Charlottes Hospital, registration district
St Marylebone and sub district St Mary. Her parents, Sidney OULD and Ivy
Annie OULD (nee SHARMAN) lived at 81 Manor Park Road, Willesden. I can't
find this Willesden address on the street map site, any ideas? What
distance between the home address and the hospital? They all went on to
live at 22 Hide Road, Harrow - which I see still exists.
Sorry to go on and on, but I'm so excited today. Thank you for reading, and
thanks in advance to anyone who could assist me in any way - no matter how
