photographer. By the way, what name are you researching? The person in
my photo is probably a Lemon (or someone whose mother was a Lemon), a
Ritchie or could be a Dowling or Allison. Anything close to your names?

Bettina,
Take another look at the photograph ! I think you'll find that the name
on the back is possibly ELLIOT & FRY of 55 Baker Street, Portman Square
W.
According to the book "A Directory of London Photographers 1841-1908"
their partnership was founded in 1863 and remained in Baker St at
various numbers until 1963 when it was incorporated into BASSANO &
VANDYCK..
The firm's co-founder was NOT an Elliot V. Fry, but a CLARENCE E. FRY.
