Subject: BRITZMAN. Herman Ernest. London, late 19th cent. and children.
Date: Fri, 4 Feb 2000 02:41 +0000 (GMT Standard Time)
Believed to have been a tailor in business with another German migrant
tailor possibly in the Marylebone or Kensington areas in the late 1800s -
early 1900s. No details of his marriage known but he had at least three
children, 2 boys and a girl.
Only one son is known to me, Frederick Stephen Britzman who may have been
born in or lived in the Paddington area circa 1937/39. He served in The
Black Watch regiment with his brother but sometime in the late 1930s
joined the RAF for the duration of WWII. Married CERIDWEN WINRIT BOWEN of
Melyncourt, nr Neath, West Glamorgan, who bore him six children, two born
in London, two in Wales, and two in Bridlington, Yorkshire.
Frederick S. Britzman died in December 1953 at Rotherham, Yorks, aged 45.
Interested in Herman E. Britzman, and his children only. Living relatives
are known thanks to various List members. Any help or suggestions
appreciated as I'm new to this field.
And if anyone has any idea where the name WINRIT originates from that also
would be most welcome.
My apologies for the approximation of the dates.
