Hello All,
I tend to agree with John in this. In my opinion, there is much ado
about the subject and not a lot can be done about it. My father told me
when I was a little girl (many moons ago) "Don't worry about what
everyone else is doing, if you make sure that you are doing the correct
thing then the rest will look after itself."
And odds are that it will do exactly that, so let's make sure we do the
best we can to make that come true.
Thanks for listening,
Best wishes,
Dell

Subject: NOT NESESSARILY INCORRECT!
| Folks, who are looking for information of genealogy take notice:
| "IF YOU CANNOT PROVE IT, BY ACTUAL DOCUMENTS< IT IS NOT NECESSARILY
INCORRECT!
| The following statement is misleading, by those in Genealogy:
| "IF YOU CANNOT PROVE IT, IT IS NOT NECESSARILY CORRECT".
|
| My findings are that many normal people who just want to record their
| individual parents, grandparents, Uncles, Aunts, Great Uncles and
Aunts, have
| found many of the birth and death dates, and do know where most lived
and
| died and whom many of their children were named. These people do not
go to
| the efforts of obtaining written records from government agencies.
These type
| people know who their close relatives were and ask sources for dates
they
| want to keep in their records or list in their Bible records. hey may
or may
| not know all the burial locations. These are the people I term "normal
| people". It is the computer whiz and the collector of genealogy that
wants to
| PROVE IT!
|
| Therefore, and Thereas, these normal people are NOT NECESSARILY
INCORRECT".
| Their personal collection of genealogy should contain enough
information to
| hand down to their individual descents, and not worry about us
"Genealogists"
| on the Internet.
|
| I do applaud those who do contribute and tell us about their facts of
| genealogy, and the readers can judge about how correct it is they
submit.
| Many questions on the Internet are submitted at various sites, and we
all
| learn and make new friends. Even on the wonderful COMBS site, the
PROVE IT
| concept still has data NOT NECESSARILY CORRECT! Much disagreement
still
| exists on the "COMBS 8" among professional genealogists. Professional
| conclusions are sometimes based on LACK OF PROOF, to PROVE IT!
|
| Even a few records contained in Virginia library for the Internet
research is
| contaminated and NOT NECESSARILY CORRECT! Records made by human
clerks are
| often misleading unless examined and PROVE IT!
