This is not a surname list.
If you wish to post in the manner you indicate then you may go to the
Newsgroup soc.genealogy.surnames.britain where a machine will monitor
the format ensuring complete conformity with the rules.
As you would know if you had bothered to read Hugh's welcome message -
this is a discussion group, confined to London but otherwise spanning
many matters which may be of interest to family historians. Not every
post here will be in reference to a surname - it may well be about a
church, an occupation, an archive or a ratcatcher's wages.... While I
admit that some people's Subject Lines are on the vague side your
suggestion would simply not be appropriate to the purposes of the List.
And please remember that your 'meaningless' emails may be someone else's
major breakthrough. And worth reading. I learn quite as much from other
people's questions and the replies as I do from my own.
