Sir Alfred SAVAGE:

Re-posting message. Original apparently failed.

Thank you John Henley for your comments and adice.

I am trying to trace the line of succession of the above. He was born on 24.11.1838 at 70 Margaret St, Haggerston East, Shoreditch, Middlesex. His parents were James and Elizabeth (nee Wallis). It is believed they were married at St Giles without Cripplegate in March 1824. James was a Hosier, then later became a Shirt Cutter.

The title appears on Alfred's birth certificate, but it did not come from his father.

I shall be grateful for any assistance and ideas.

Thanks, Maureen
